ODTUG #Maythe4thEPM Community Virtual Meetup

When life hands you lemons, make lemonade (for those who don’t drink) or mix them with salt and tequila! (for those who do)

As it has been the case in the past few years, I started planning the ODTUG EPM & Analytics community meetups in the New York, New Jersey, Boston, Connecticut Northeast region of the United States early in January. First up in my 2020 calendar would be the New York City EPM community meetup usually held at the Park Ave. Oracle offices right next to Grand Central.

After finalizing the speakers and sponsors the ODTUG board suggested to co-host the event with OHUG to give our members a chance to network with members of another Oracle user group in the New York area. Everyone was excited to get together in the city that never sleeps some time in the Spring. Two of our speakers, Opal and Cameron, were going to fly from Texas and Philadelphia to be at the meetup!

However my EPM Northeast Meetups calendar didn’t exactly follow the Corona calendar… Leaving the lemons and tequila aside, when a door closes another opens! ODTUG has always been there for our members, and after a sad announcement of cancelling Kscope20 in Boston, we decided to transform the New York City meetup into a virtual event where ALL ODTUG EPM community members across the world would be invited to join us for a 6 hour Star Wars inspired gathering!

Maythe4thEPM

The Force was VERY Strong with the ODTUG EPM Community on May the Fourth!

Thank you to all the speakers, all EPM community members and volunteers who spread the word about the event, Jay for sharing the engaging Trivia questions, and the ODTUG  staff for designing some awesome Star Wars inspired graphics as well as for going above and beyond to coordinate flawlessly a 6 hr virtual event. We did wrap up our meetup with a cozy happy hour, with some members having what seemed like tequila, some water, and some coffee 🙂

Enjoy a tweet recap of the event below. We will see you soon at the #ODTUGHomeSeries and future ODTUG Community virtual events in 2020. Stay safe everyone! — on that topic, you’ll want to scroll to the end for some Yoda safety advice 😉

The Force was definitely strong with ODTUG EPMers, and it will continue to get stronger across all ODTUG communities on May 19 – 22. Join us!!!

STAY SAFE EVERYONE!!!
